ABSTRACT: Early childhood education (ECE) plays a vital role in fostering generosity among young children, which is essential for their social and emotional development. This study investigates how ECE programs contribute to the development of generosity in early childhood. The objectives are to (1) assess the level of generosity in children attending ECE programs, (2) evaluate the impact of generosity-promoting activities in ECE settings, and (3) compare the generosity levels of children who attend ECE programs with those who do not. A survey design was chosen to collect quantitative data on generosity and qualitative insights from teachers and parents. A purposive sample of 140 children from preschools in Rivers State was selected. The case study focuses on preschools known for their generosity-promoting initiatives. Findings indicated that children attending ECE programs exhibited higher levels of generosity compared to those not in such programs. Generosity-promoting activities were highly effective. Recommendations include integrating structured generosity activities into ECE curricula and training educators to foster generosity among young children.
